Become a 7 Lakes Alliance Volunteer!

During the summer, individuals and groups can help the 7 Lakes Alliance stop the spread of invasive species in our lakes by volunteering as courtesy boat inspectors and/or invasive plant patrollers. Other volunteer tasks can be as simple as baking cookies, setting up chairs, stuffing envelopes, or looking for plants on boats, or as involved as marking trails, leading a hike or canoe trip, or teaching an outdoor skill.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Adopt A Shoreline - Survey your shoreline for invasive plants once a year! We will train you!

Advertising/ Business - Help us advertise, stay in touch with volunteers and members, and get our name out there!

Courtesy Boat Inspectors (CBI) - Inspect boats at the boat launches in the watershed looking for invasive plants and animals! We will train you!

Events - Plan, organize, and staff events here in our gallery or out in the field! Help plan races, art events .. or your own idea! Lead a hike!

Stewardship Monitoring - Monitor conservation property by becoming a land steward. Walk property boundaries and report on the status of a property!

Meet & Greet! - Help cover 7 Lakes Alliance's gallery by welcoming visitors, answering questions, and selling trail maps and t-shirts!

Photography - Take photos around the watershed of wildlife, events, or landscapes, and send them to us for use in outreach tools! (Facebook, Instagram, E-Mail, mailings... credit happily given.)

Plant Paddles - Paddle with a purpose! We will teach you how to identify invasive plants and paddle the shorelines as a team preventing invasion!

Trail Work - Join the Stewardship team in creating and maintaining trails on our thousands of acres of conservation lands! Last fall, the Girl Scouts joined us and cleaned up French Mountain trail!

Water Quality - Assist our staff in collecting water quality data with boat rides to and from the monitoring buoys or by snowmobile in the winter!

Thank you to all past and current volunteers!
