About The Event
After a long winter the French Mountain trail needs some maintenance to get it ready for the summer season! Join 7 Lakes Alliance for a day of clearing corridor and tread on this trail, as well as clearing blowdown that has fallen across the trail.
Tasks:
- Pruning trees and bushes along the trail corridor
- Clearing the tread of the trail where necessary, and raking drainages to promote water flow off the trail. This will be especially important on the southern part of the loop trail
- Removing loose rocks in the trail
- Clearing downed trees and logs along the trail where necessary
- Picking up trash and debris along the road and trail
What to bring:
- Work gloves, sturdy work shoes
- Water
- Lunch/snacks
- Bug spray
- Sunscreen and appropriate clothing to be out in the sun!
Tools you could bring (7 Lakes will provide tools as well)
- Loppers
- Hand saw
- Hatchet or small axe
- Rake or hoe
- Safety glasses and hearing protection (7 Lakes staff may be running a chainsaw)
Driving Directions to Trailhead: the French Mountain parking lot is located on the east side of Watson Pond Road, 0.7 miles south of Watson Pond Road’s junction with Route 27
