About The Event
7 Lakes Alliance will host an invasive plant identification workshop on Tuesday, Aug. 16, led by Roberta Hill, who has led the invasive species program for Lake Stewards of Maine for the past 22 years. The workshop will be from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at 7 Lakes’ headquarters, 137 Main St. in the Belgrade Lakes village.
A minimum of 10 participants is required for the workshop to occur. Pre-registration is required at https://www.lakestewardsofmaine.org/invasive-plant-patrol-workshops/.
Hill will have live samples of native and invasive aquatic plants for participants to study. She trained 7 Lakes Invasive Aquatics Director Sharon Mann to identify invasive plants. Hill is retiring in September, so this will be the final time she will lead a workshop for 7 Lakes. Attached is a photo of her leading an invasive plant identification workshop earlier this summer on North Pond.
