About The Event
Most of us are concerned about changes that are happening with our local climate. Confusing conflicting information leaves us wondering what is the best path forward. In this information session:
- 7 Lakes Alliance staff will review climate impacts on the Belgrade Lakes watershed.
- You will be introduced to EnRoads, MIT’s climate simulator. Guided by UMF Professor Emeritus Paul Stancioff, participants will have an opportunity to suggest ideal climate solutions to test with the simulator. Results will surprise and perhaps inspire you.
- You'll hear from local volunteers from the Citizens’ Climate Lobby, a non-profit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change, about their work with the US Congress. There is much hopeful work going on behind the scenes - that doesn’t make headlines.
- CCL volunteers will fill you in on the state and local efforts underway to build support for fair effective realistic climate policy legislation- and their local effort to send a message to the US Congress.
You will leave the session with some new insights and ideas about how we can effectively deal with a local and global problem and how you might be able to help.
*This event will be available via Zoom. Please indicate if you plan on attending this event via Zoom when you register.
