7 Lakes Alliance has acquired Clean Water Act grants to control erosion around McGrath Pond, Salmon Lake and North Pond. Supported by those funds, our Youth Conservation Corps is seeking erosion-control projects around those lakes, particularly if improvements were suggested in a LakeSmart evaluation.
Comprised of high school and college students, the YCC installs erosion controls, such as vegetative buffers, driplines, meandering paths and infiltration steps. The property owner pays for materials and a fraction of the YCC's labor costs.
