About The Event
Recognizing that the health of Belgrade’s lakes is critical to the vitality of the community, three Town of Belgrade committees, along with the 7 Lakes Alliance, will jointly meet April 27 to discuss how they can best work together to ensure the preservation and protection of the lakes.
The meeting will be from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the Center for All Seasons. The center is located at 1 Center Drive along Route 27 in the village. The public is invited to attend and participate in the discussion.
The committees participating in the discussion will be the Lakes Committee, the Planning Board and the Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee. Following a brief explanation by the chairmen of each committee’s roles and responsibilities, the 7 Lakes Alliance will offer an overview of the watershed management plans it has crafted to ensure the health of the five lakes in Belgrade: Great Pond, Long Pond, Messalonskee Lake, McGrath Pond and Salmon Lake.
The groups hope to determine priorities for the Town’s three committees for protecting and preserving the lakes, along with potential implementation plans. Recommendations will later be presented to the elected Board of Selectpersons for approval and guidance on how the groups should proceed
