About The Event
Paddle with purpose! Free plant ID training and suitable for most ages (if you can paddle, you can participate!)
Have you been looking for an opportunity to help out with the curly-leaf pondweed remediation efforts?
If so, now is your time! On Thursday July 7th 7 Lakes Alliance and North Pond Association will host an Invasive Plant Patrol to survey the entire shoreline of North Pond for invasive plants (especially curly-leaf pondweed).
In years past, we have not been able to survey the entire shoreline of North Pond due to the logistics of paddling such long distances in one day! This year we are hoping to have MORE volunteers who will be asked to paddle less than 2 miles. We are seeking shoreline properties to park and launch from in each of the 8 sectors shown in the map above. We are looking for volunteers to participate in paddling and folks who can offer their shoreline access for volunteers to park and launch paddle craft from.
Each volunteer will be paired with someone who is experienced in paddling and invasive aquatic plant identification.
Please fill out this sign up sheet to participate in the paddling or to offer parking for our volunteers. Contact our Invasive Aquatics Program Director, Sharon Mann, for more information. sharon.mann@7lakesalliance.org or 603-205-3912.
