About The Event
Jason Seiders, a Fisheries Resource Supervisor with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, will discuss invasive fish species and their impacts on our native fisheries resources. This will include discussion regarding invasives in central Maine waters, control methods that IFW uses to minimize the impacts of invasive species, and new invasive species recently discovered in central Maine. Seiders' presentation will include time for questions and group discussion. This is a great opportunity to exchange information, or maybe ask that question that you’ve had on your mind.
A Belgrade resident, Seiders has been an IFW biologist for 16 years, with the last 10 years spent managing the inland waters of central and midcoast Maine. Prior to his time with IFW, he spent 10 years as a fisheries consultant in the utility industry. His consulting experience dealt heavily with the hydroelectric industry and involved numerous fish species up and down the east coast of the United States.
