About The Event
What are your thoughts about effective climate actions or policies? Have you discussed them with friends, neighbors, family members? You are invited to a Community Conversation about Climate policy, the goals of which are:
to initiate a conversation starting with climate concerns of participants, what kinds of climate actions and policies they consider effective;
to introduce a policy known as “Carbon Cash Back” that is straightforward, fair, effective and realistic and has been adopted or partially adopted by 73 nations, including Canada. It was first introduced in the 1980’s by the conservative Reagan Administration’s George Schulz as an effective way to rein in climate change.
With benefits that should appeal to both Republican and Democratic policy makers, why has Carbon Cash Back not been adopted here in the United States? Has any progress been made toward enacting such a policy? Come and discuss the policy and decide for yourself if it is worth pursuing.
